MEDLEY
Like its namesake, Medley is a blend of beginning music concepts. We sing and talk about shapes in this great beginning course for our youngest musicians!
Spotlight on shapes!! Medley nurtures a child's natural abilities to sing and play simple instruments through whimsical songs and games revolving around shapes. Medley explores a child’s first instrument, the voice! No matter what a child’s future involvement with music is, understanding their own voice will allow them to enjoy music in a more thoughtful way.
SCALE UP
Have you ever heard of a pangolin? I wonder if it can play resonator bells… Scale up your child’s musical abilities while learning about animals with scales!
Scale Up takes your young musician to the next level! Students will improve their musical literacy by reinforcing basic rhythms and follow scaled creatures up and down the musical scale on our first pitched instruments from Unit 2, resonator bells! We focus on simple rhythms and contrasting musical concepts while hanging out with turtles and butterflies.
ANIMAL CHORUS
Sing along with a chorus of animals as we practice high and low sounds with our voices, instruments, and written music!
We’re reading music! Students practice reading their basic music notation on a simplified music staff appropriate to our youngest beginning musicians. In Animal Chorus, we talk about the music that surrounds us in nature - musical animals such as the Mexican Free-Tailed bat, crickets, and wolves. We continue to explore contrasting musical concepts and reinforce new vocabulary and early music literacy learned in Unit 3.
